Jordan Chen

Jordan writes about making things - and about gifts for the kind of person whose weekends are quietly full of half-finished projects. Trained as a printmaker at RISD, spent four years running a small ceramics studio out of a converted garage, now writes and teaches occasional intro-to-wheel classes on Saturdays. Providence is home, has been since school. They have strong opinions about fiber weight, brush hair, and kiln temperatures. Their writing is quiet, honest, a little obsessive in a good way. Known for paragraphs that start with 'here's the thing about' and end with a specific material recommendation. Their own studio walls are lined with test tiles dating back to 2019 - every glaze labeled in a tiny hand they deny can be read.
